Item 1 The Organization " The Organization Committee of the Sharmarathon " takes care of the international half marathon, km 21.097 on November 7th 2008 in Ras Mohamed National Park - Sharm El Sheikh- Egypt.
Item 2 Definition of the Race "Sharmarathon" is a half marathon race.
Item 3 Subscription to the race All athletes that are 18 years old by November 7th 2008 can participate .
Item. 4 Race package Each Participant will receive a Rucksack, head band , and a t- shirt especially produced for the event.
Item 5 The Route The race will be run inside the Ras Mohamed National Park, a natural coast and sea reserve where the desert and the sea share the idyllic atmosphere with a creation of little bays and lagoons where nature shows all variety of colours from shallow turquoise water to the deep cobalt blue.
Most of the race will be run on a compact surface, with some areas on soft sand .
The starting and the finishing line will be located at the monumental gate of the park symbol and trade mark of Ras Mohamed National Park.
The race track will be marked with a sign every kilometre.
Item 6 Refreshment The organization will provide a water point at every 3 Km along the track ,and distribution of reintegrating salt and vitamin sachetsat at the 6/12/18 Km marks .
Item 7 Assistance Sharmarathon Staff on board quad bikes will assist the athletes along the entire route. A jeep will be at the back of the group following the last Participant.
Item 8 Climate conditions In November the temperature is about 28°C. No humidity
Item 9 Classification The result of each runner is timed in hours, minutes and seconds.
Item 10 Medical Assistance and Insurance During the race there will be medical assistance with a doctor and a ambulance on site.
The Participants take part under their own responsibility. The "The Organization Committee of the Sharmarathon " is not responsible for accidents, falls or sudden illness during the race and on training sessions, therefore the participants cannot charge any responsibility to the organization.
The Organization is not responsible for any accidents, death or damages occurred to the athletes during the race and training sessions .
Item 11 Subscription The race fee is Euro 100,00
Includes: Race Number – competition package - Transportation from Old Sharm to Ras Mohamed National Park and back – prize ceremony.
Item 12 Photgraphy All the exclusive rights to the use of images of " Sharmarathon" belong to "The Organization Committee of the Sharmarathon"
All Participants allow the organizers to use their names and their image. Any photographic support , video or film taken during the trials cannot be used by the Participants for sale but only for personal and private use unless authorised by "The Organization Committee of the Sharmarathon"
Item 13 Prizes. The first 5 men/women classified will receive prizes as follows:
First man/woman € 500,00
Second man/woman € 400,00
Third man/woman € 300,00
Fourth man/woman sports equipment
Fifth man/woman sports equipment
Prizes to women will be of same amounts only if at least 15 female athletes finish the race.
If 10 female athletes finish the race the organization will pay 50% of the men's prizes. If less than 10 women participate in the race the first five will receive sports equipment as a prize.
Each athlete will receive the official Sharmarathon medal and a local souvenir.
Item 14 Binding contract Subscription to the race indicates acceptance of and binds all participants to the rules and regulations as stated above and in any future amendments.
